We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, and all forms of exploitation. This policy outlines our commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains, in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Define our commitment to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking are not present in our business operations or supply chains.

  • Ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Scope of the Policy

This policy applies to:

  • All employees, contractors, and agents working for Well Wise Hub Ltd. or on our behalf.
  • All individuals or organisations we work with, including suppliers, subcontractors, and other business partners.

We expect all individuals and organisations associated with Well Wise Hub Ltd. to share our commitment to eradicating modern slavery.

What is Modern Slavery?

Modern slavery is a crime that encompasses slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. Victims are often trapped and exploited for personal or commercial gain. Modern slavery can take various forms, including:

  • Human Trafficking: The recruitment, transportation, transfer, or harbouring of persons by means of threat or force for exploitation.
  • Forced Labour: Work or service which individuals are coerced into, under threat or penalty, and for which they have not voluntarily offered themselves.
  • Debt Bondage: Individuals forced to work to pay off debts, often under unfair conditions.
  • Child Labour: The exploitation of children in any work that deprives them of their childhood, potential, and dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development.

Our Commitment

Well Wise Hub Ltd. is committed to:

  • Operating with transparency, accountability, and integrity to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place within our business or supply chains.
  • Continuously assessing our business practices and supply chains to identify and minimise the risk of modern slavery.
  • Engaging only with suppliers, contractors, and business partners who share our commitment to preventing modern slavery.
  • Providing guidance and training to our staff to ensure awareness of modern slavery risks and our collective responsibility to prevent it.

Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

To mitigate the risk of modern slavery within our business operations and supply chains, we will:

  • Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments of our suppliers, contractors, and other third parties to identify potential areas of vulnerability.
  • Supplier Audits: Ensure that our suppliers and contractors undergo appropriate checks and audits to confirm their compliance with our ethical standards and the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  • Contractual Obligations: Include clauses in our contracts with suppliers and business partners requiring them to comply with our modern slavery policy and UK laws. Failure to meet these standards may result in termination of the contract.
  • Whistleblowing: Provide mechanisms for employees, suppliers, and third parties to confidentially report concerns related to modern slavery, exploitation, or human trafficking.

Training and Awareness

To ensure that our staff are aware of modern slavery risks, Well Wise Hub Ltd. will:

  • Provide training to employees on identifying and responding to signs of modern slavery.
  • Raise awareness about modern slavery through internal communications and briefings.

If any employee, contractor, or business partner becomes aware of or suspects modern slavery, they must report it immediately. Reports can be made through:

  • Internal Whistleblowing Mechanisms: Employees can report concerns confidentially to their line manager or directly to the HR department.
  • External Reporting: Concerns can also be reported to external bodies such as the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700.

Well Wise Hub Ltd. will thoroughly investigate any reported concerns and take appropriate action, including reporting incidents to relevant authorities if necessary.

  • Regularly review and update this Modern Slavery Policy.
  • Monitor our supply chains and business operations for modern slavery risks and ensure continuous improvement.
